It always happens so fast. No less than two days after leaving Caz, I found myself 150 miles away and back at high school getting ready for another school year of football games, parades, concerts and music events. It happens so fast; it’s really difficult to get back into the swing of things when my thoughts are still at camp.
This was another memorable summer at Caz – the campers, the music, the staff, the events and concerts made every day of the seven week season one to remember. With over 600 campers, from our newest campers in Young Musicians session to our six- and seven-year veterans in High School, all came to make music the focus of their experience.
Each fall CazMatters likes to profile a Caz family member. This year we thought of Danielle DiDonato, our Piano Faculty for the past two summers. Danielle has been with Caz for the last 5 summers and has always been a standout camp staff member and musician. Our Registration Manager, Emily Brockman spoke to Danielle about her life, attending San Francisco State University, and all things Caz!
Hi Danielle, How is your fall going so far?
School started at the end of August. I’m majoring in music, so my degree will be a Bachelor’s in music and piano performance. I take all the general education classes that are required for all students as well as the core music classes like music theory, and ear training. Because my degree is in performance I don’t have to take education classes so I’m taking conducting and accompanying, among many others. I’m here with a scholarship so I have a required number of hours that I need to accompany other performance students. Right now I’m the accompanist for the women’s choir; they meet twice a week and that covers the requirement.
Relive the thrills and great fun of summer while reconnecting with your Caz friends at the Fourth Annual Caz Camper Holiday Reunion Party! Mark your calendar for Saturday December 17, 2011 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at Northbrae Community Church for the big event.
This event last year was a huge success as we had more than 100 campers and parents attend and celebrate both Caz and the holidays. This year, master of ceremonies Jim Mazzaferro, will again oversee raffles, games, and more. The Caz Youth Leadership Council has some exciting plans for our younger campers as well. There will also be a delectable line up of treats, including a veritable Festival of Cupcakes.
